August 10: Commissioned and premiered two works at the NFA Convention, Chicago Hilton

  1. Ian Clarke’s Spells, for flute quintet
    Performed byJennifer Clippert, Kim Sopata Fleuchaus, Ellen Huntington, Alyce Johnson, and Scott Metlicka
  2. Shulamit Ran’s Birds of Paradise for Flute and Piano (Ran’s first composition for this instrumentation!)
    Performed by Mary Stolper, flute and Kuang-Hao Huang, piano

November 6: Commissioned and premiered a flute quartet for the CFC Festival Banquet, Hotel Orrington, Evanston
