The Chicago Flute Club is delighted to present the
2025 Donald Peck International Flute Competition!
Registration opens May 1, 2025
Registration is NOW CLOSED for the Preliminary Round of the competition.
Congratulations to the Prize Winners of our 2025 Donald Peck International Flute Competition!
The Donald Peck International Flute Competition is held biennially in conjunction with the Biennial Flute Festival
Eligibility
- The 2025 Donald Peck International Flute Competition is open to all flutists age 18 years or older from any geographical region.
- Chicago Flute Club membership is NOT required for application.
- Previous first prize winners, high school students, and current students of the final round judges (TBA) are ineligible.
Competition Rules
- The application must include the YouTube link (video performance of the Preliminary Round required repertoire) and be submitted by Sunday, June 15, 2025.
- The application fee is $50, which is non-refundable.
- The video must be uploaded on YouTube, set as unlisted and named with the last and first names of the candidate followed by the round. For instance, UNDERWOOD_Susan_Preliminary_Round
- Preliminary Round pieces may be recorded separately and then joined together in one YouTube link. No other editing or stopping of the recording device is permitted.
- Results of the preliminary round, including the selection of 4-5 finalists, will be released by Friday, July 11, 2025
- The Final Round will take place in person at the 2025 CFC Flute Festival: Out of the Box on Sunday, October 12, 2025 TBD in Elmhurst, Illinois at Elmhurst University.
- All judges’ decisions are final.

Preliminary Round:
Candidates must submit an unedited YouTube video performance of the preliminary round for adjudication containing these pieces and in this order. You may record pieces separately but put them in one YouTube link

Final Round:
Finalists will present a recital program under 20 minutes in length (including time between movements and works).

- (optional) Finalists may program additional repertoire if desired, as long as the total program is less than 20 minutes.

- Works requiring accompaniment must be performed with the accompaniment. CFC will help find a local pianist by request.
Awards
- 1st Prize – $1,000.00
- 2nd Prize – $500.00
- 3rd Prize – $250.00
- 4th Prize – $100.00
